Today, I’d like to focus in on the topic of being brave enough to care and make a difference in our world. Too often we feel as though our efforts are too small to truly make a difference. We often forget that we hold the power to create change and to inspire others simply within our very being, or perhaps we feel as though the task is too large at hand and that I as one person, could never make a difference. I’m telling you that is not true. Everyone starts somewhere and having conversations and acting upon things that YOU can change within your community or your life, is where it must begin. Offering to cook a meal for a family in your neighborhood who is struggling, buying that person behind you a coffee, writing a blog post to raise thoughts and to inspire others, saying hello to people on the street and asking how they are (and taking the time to actually listen and say I’m here for you if you need me!), treating others as you would treat yourself, starting conversations about issues in our world that need fixing, and reducing, reusing, and recycling, are all things that start with you, but can ultimately inspire so many people to create change themselves. I encourage you to start saying to yourself, “I know I can’t do everything, but I can do something, always”. When the world asks you to be a better person, do not be afraid to say yes!
I’ve embedded a TED Talk video below, as I found it very inspiring and I definitely think its worth a watch. I know its a bit long, but I promise you its worth it, so try and stick it out! lol. Thanks everyone! As always, if you need to talk, I’m here.
